Intro

Who should take this course?

This course is intended for those who want to teach BLS and Heartsaver courses to certify others, such as staff or the community.

Items you will need to purchase prior to class.

As an AHA BLS Instructor, you'll be able to teach the following classes:

  • BLS Provider
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver for K-12 Schools
  • Heartsaver First Aid Only
  • Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Friends and Family

You will also be able to:

  • Teach at your place of employment and/or outside work by holding your own classes.
  • Ability to issue certification cards to students.
  • Post your classes on the AHA class locator.
  • Teach anywhere in the US.

Steps for the class

  • You must have a current AHA BLS provider certification at the time of your class. No other programs are accepted (Example: Red Cross). If you do not have a current AHA BLS certification, you can add the certification and complete it before the instructor's course. We will arrange to complete your certification prior to the day of your class.
  • Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course. The registration confirmation email will include a link to your online course.
  • Attend the in-person instructor's course.
  • You are required to bring a person with you on the day of the class to participate in your initial monitoring. This will be conducted in the afternoon, and they will receive a free BLS provider certification. You will also be provided with more information in the confirmation email.
Our continuing support will be available after you become an instructor.
No matter where you plan to teach your CPR classes, whether it's at your place of employment or your own business, we can help you get off to a fast start and provide ongoing support. 

NOTE: This is NOT a class to become an instructor to teach others CPR. This is for a BLS Provider certification for healthcare providers.

This class format is OSHA, University, Healthcare Recruiter, Government, and Workplace Compliant with the same certification as an in-person classroom.

Who should take this course?
This BLS course is a full course designed for those who work in the healthcare field, such as nurses, traveling nurses, nursing students, dentists, pre-med students, pharmacists, and EMTs. 
 
What the class covers: The class topics include CPR/AED for Adults, children, and infants and obstructed airways.

Steps for the class:

1. Choose a date and time for your in-person AHA BLS Class.
 
2. We email you a confirmation of your AHA BLS Class.
 
3. Arrive to your BLS Class early on your scheduled date and time to ensure the class starts on time.
 
4. Upon  successful completion of the class, exam, and skills you will receiver your AHA BLS eCard before you leave the class which is valid for 2 years.
 
5. You will need to go in your email to claim your AHA BLS eCard.

The American Red Cross’ blended learning courses equip attendees to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants (depending on the course).

It is designed for attendees who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. These classes are taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-led skills session.

Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate based on the course taken is issued.
